Brain Awareness Open House 2024

On April 2nd, 2024, we hosted our first in-person Brain Awareness Open House since the pandemic. Students from Newport High School came to the University of Washington to get their hands on some neuroscience. Neuroscientists across multiple training levels from UW, the Allen Institute, and other community partners came together to create an interdisciplinary, interactive, and informative event for our high school visitors.

Dr. Eric Chudler, PhD

Dr. Eric Chudler, PhD, a current UW professor in Bioengineering, gave a welcome presentation to the students followed by a introduction to the brain!

Activity Zone

An activity zone with interactive science booths to learn more about neuroscience and related fields

A Reverse Science Fair

A reverse science fair wherein graduate students presented their research and high school students judged the exhibits
